  • Instructor for Ohio lawyers with lectures on evidentiary requirements, trial strategy, and arbitration/mediation techniques.

  • Served as a legal expert for the media – both local and national - appearing on television and radio broadcasts, as well as for newspaper outlets including the Chicago Tribune.

  • Has been awarded the Martindale-Hubbell attorney directory AV rating, its highest for legal skills and ethics. The AV rating is limited to those attorneys who have achieved “very high to preeminent legal abilities” and the highest ethical standards. Awarded to 9% of the lawyers in the United States.

  • Carved out important new law for Ohio car accident victims with Stanton v Nationwide Insurance. This landmark decision was heralded by USA Lawyers Weekly.

  • Has served as counsel on major Ohio litigation – including the heavily-publicized Hester v Dwivedi case, involving “wrongful life” issues. His most recent work at changing the law is Ruther v Kaiser, which is currently under appellate review.  It is an attempt to fairly restore the statute of limitations.

  • Tom Gelwicks has successfully argued law before the District Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Ohio.

  • At the invitation of the General Assembly, Mr. Gelwicks has provided expert legal opinion before the House Judiciary Committee of the Ohio House of Representatives.
